You know how fun it is when you get a new book and it just exceeds your expectations? Yeah, that’s me right now. 🙂 I have the new book, “The Ultimate Brush Lettering Guide” by the lovely Peggy Dean / The Pigeon Letters and it’s amazing!! (Thank you Peggy!!)

I was looking forward to getting my hands on this book since I first heard about it from Peggy. It really does go over everything you need to get started in brush lettering and even has tips that “seasoned” letterers like myself will love and find helpful and inspiring.

I know when you first start lettering, it’s a bit intimidating. But Peggy has broken down everything in an easy to read and easy to understand way.

She starts with a good list of supplies to start with and gets into explanations of what everything is. And, what I think is extremely helpful, the difference between Hand Lettering, Calligraphy, and Typography.

She also includes samples of different types of paper to practice with before she gets into the lettering itself. And the inspirational quotes throughout the book definitely don’t hurt. 🙂

But, really, if you’re looking for an awesome lettering book, this is one for your collection. I’m so happy it’s now a part of mine. I’m having such a hard time not giving you a complete page by page overview because I think you should totally check it out and get one!!

By the way, you can find it on Amazon or in her Etsy shop as a downloadable e-book.

And, in the meantime, here’s a quick flip through of the book to show a glimpse of how much Peggy included in it. You can tell how much hard work she put into this book. She’s so thorough and is very knowledgeable and creative with lettering and art.  Just recently she shared a video on Instagram where she embossed on a rock!! A rock!! So cool. 🙂

Thank you again Peggy!! You have put together such an informative and creative book for us letterers. 🙂
